Experience the leisurely yet invigorating Falcon Warrior Trail, a serene half-mile pathway commencing at the very source of the Sequatchie River’s birth. This river emerges as the sole natural water outlet from the pristine Grassy Cove to the north, shaped by the unique karst landscape. Along the Falcon Warrior Trail, you’ll be treated to a gentle journey that leads to an overlook of Devilstep Hollow Cave and guides you past Sherrill Cemetery—resting place of Cumberland County’s inaugural sheriff, Craven Sherrill, a descendant of Katherine “Bonnie Kate” Sherrill, wife of John Sevier.

This trail offers a connection to history, allowing you to walk in the footsteps of Tennessee’s earliest European settlers and Native Americans who once trod these paths. In times dating back to the Mississippian Period, Devilstep Hollow Cave held immense ceremonial significance, with its enigmatic allure safeguarding some of the most significant pictographs, petroglyphs, and mud glyphs in the southeastern United States.
